The McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) was developed by the late Robin McKenzie, a Physical Therapist from New Zealand. It is a world renowned, reliable assessment process intended to classify musculoskeletal conditions such as back pain, neck pain, or pain in one or multiple extremities.
MDT is also extremely effective for issues associated with sciatica, sacroiliac (SI) joint pain, arthritis, degenerative disc disease, muscle spasms, and intermittent numbness in the hands or feet.
Our patients enjoy this assessment and treatment method because a large portion of the treatment is done at home. The doctor will periodically follow-up with the patient and modify the course of treatment as needed based on the patients progression and goals. This allows you to take control and manage your pain in the comfort of your own home.
Treatment based off of a patient’s MDT assessment allows the practitioner to give specific exercises at home following their office visit. This provides an effective pain-relieving strategy for self-care at home, rather than visiting the office several times each week.
Our goal is to get our patients better as fast as possible, and that often includes several types of therapy in a single visi
